Who is Proton?
Proton is a Malaysian automotive company and automobile corporation, boasting excellence in automobile design, manufacturing, distribution and sales of Proton vehicles.
The purchase of a 49.9% stake in Proton took place in 2017 by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group; a Fortune 500 company which owns VOLVO and Lotus. The Proton brand was transformed through its additional finance, technical expertise and products.

Proton in South Africa
Proton is available in South Africa and with that, Proton South Africa, in partnership with Proton Malaysia launched the Proton X50 and Proton X70 at the end of 2022.
